Product Preview GAMS MIRO: A web interface for your GAMS models


Are you a modeling expert and would like to run your GAMS program from within a web browser, being able to visualize input and output data? Or an enterprise that requires a graphical user interface so that their planners can work more productively, leveraging the full potential optimization brings? 

Deep integration into the GAMS modeling system allows you to perform data manipulation, scenario management, graphical evaluation of the results and much more from within the web browser by adding very few annotations to your model. All you need to do is specify which input and output datasets you want to visualize. This already results in a fully functional GUI that can be launched directly from the new GAMS Studio or via a shortcut on your Desktop. 

The web interface also comes with multiple options to customize your graphics and layout via a single JSON file. Advanced data manipulation can be performed in R and also enterprise features such as managing multiple optimization models for multiple (concurrent) users with access management, load balancing, batch configuration and much more are supported.

Our goal is to provide a deployment option that requires only limited financial resources so that all our customers and OR experts who design creative solutions to problems in a wide range of different areas can benefit from it.

Frederik Proske

Operations Research Analyst, GAMS Software GmbH

Frederik Proske holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Hannover, where he also taught students concepts of Operations Research for several years.

In 2016 he joined GAMS as Operations Research Analyst. In this role, he is responsible for software development and project management in the area of mathematical programming. His core competencies are projects in the field of operations research - mostly scheduling problems - that provide customers with powerful optimization software.

Since 2018, he has been the lead engineer for GAMS MIRO, a tool that allows you to automate the use of your GAMS models. He regularly gives lectures at universities and international conferences.
